Recruitment

A letter from our Recruitment Chair,

Dear Potential New Member,

My Name is Saylor Higgins and I am serving as the 2023 Recruitment Chair for the Sigma Alpha Zeta Chapter here at LSU!!

Before recruitment week begins, I wanted to send a warm welcome on behalf of our chapter. You are about to begin a new chapter of your life here at LSU and we are so excited that you are considering our sorority. You will meet girls that will become your best friends, making lifetime connections.

Greek Life is an exciting thing to join to get more out of your college experience and Sigma Alpha can be that place where you thrive! We are the only professional sorority meaning we work on building you character and prepare you for the professional world. We give many opportunities to grow and be apart of the Greek life community, as well as the LSU community. Your sisters will be your biggest support, always pushing you to be the best version of you!

I am very excited to see you during recruitment week where you can see more of what being a Sigma Alpha sister is like. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me an email at sazetarecruitment@gmail.com

Member recruitment can be broken down into three phases:

Recruitment Week:
  • Recruitment week lasts for four days and consists of an Ice Cream Social, Information Night, Philanthropy Night, and Preference Night. Come have fun, meet our sisters, and learn more about our sorority!
  • It is required to attend 2 nights in addition to preference night to be considered for membership.
Preference Night:
  • The fourth day of recruitment week. Potential new members will be interviewed by our executive board, and then voted on by actives to determine if they will be extended a bid.
  • Bids are sent out the day after interviews are completed.
Bid Day:
  • A day to celebrate our newly initiated girls and welcome them into our sorority!
